So this was Christmas. (Christmas 2013)

the weather stayed dark and gray all through Christmas, but the atmosphere was cozy and warm. i ate too much, like one does during the holidays. the kids were restless but joyful. everyone got great presents. i, of course got books! which i will make a separate post about at my book blog, soon. it was nice to be all together for once, i don't think i've been with around my whole family since summer. i mostly read, petted our old dog and cat who had suddenly gotten adorably fat. and i realized, that despite of growing up, Christmas to me, still feels like magic. just different kind of magic.

here in finland we celebrate summer solstice or Midsummer mainly by drinking and eating. well i celebrated it mostly by eating and spending time with my family. first at home and then at this beautiful campsite in a small island near where we live. for once the weather was not rainy nor cold, it was sunny and hot and perfect (everyone else except me got a little sun burned. my skin is weird, i don't burn nor do i tan). the kids were happy and full of energy and they all fell asleep on the ride home. it was the perfect summer day.

Janni is still learning how to master the art of ice-cream eating. Jonna likes to growl at me like a wolf girl. Jesse has a passion for badminton and the lessons he's been taking for the past year has made him unbeatable. Nöpö recently turned 10 years old and even tho he still has the spirit of a one year old he has winter in his fur.

my little niece Janni turned 1 years old two weeks ago. on her actual birthday she was a bit sick, poor girl, but she was well enough to open some presents and have her firs taste of a birthday cake!

a week later she was well again and we had a little Birthday photoshoot (because that's what happens when you're auntie is a photographer). she is the most adorable person ever!

but you're a king and i'm a Lionheart.

i turned 25 yeasterday. i didn't plan on celebrating or anything, but got some surprise guests who brought a cake and everything. it ended up being a very mellow, yet probably one of the best birthdays i've had.

my little niece Janni grows bigger and bigger everyday. she learns something new everyday. she laughs a lot and she is just a silly little Hobbit Eared thing.

my life gets kind of boring, need something that i can confess.

+ i can't believe it's almost August or that my last post was made in May! sorry about that.
+ i've read a lot; Fahrenheit 451, The Great Gatsby (again), Paper Towns, graphic novels, SFX...
+ saw The Amazing Spider-man and thought it was very entertaining and Andrew & Emma are adorable.
+ saw Pulp and Flogging Molly and some finnish bands at Ruisrock. the Pulp show was amazing and a dream come true (and i was on the first row!)
+ watched my sister get married to a wonderful man she's been in love with since they were 16!
+ their little daughter got the name Janni Maria, and she is now almost three months old.
+ spent some time with them at a summer cottage.
+ i didn't get into the University, but i'm gonna try again next year.
+ i'm excited about Autumn and stuff.

how's your summer been?! i'm sorry about the random unexpected hiatus, it was a hell of a spring and i felt like i had nothing to give. but i'm back!
