Go, don't stop. Go, don't stop. Go, don't stop, now go!


 2011 Recap part 01. 

In January i was overly excited about my new music find, Childish Gambino. i went to the documentary film festival and saw I'm Still here. i got excited about Oscars and tried to watch as many nominees as possible. i saw Hurts live and ended up in the same bar as the guys from Hurts. had a Mojito night with friends and got sad when The Ark released a new single, knowing they were about to start their farewell tour.

Important things that happened
 On January 11th flooding and mudslides kill over 900 people in Rio De Janeiro, Brazil.
•  On January 14th a fter a month of violent protests Tunisian goverment falls and president Zine El Abidine  Ben Ali flees to Saudi Arabia after 23 years in power.


February was cold and we had a ton of snow. i had movie nights with my roommate, watched the Oscars, as always and went to London for an interview in an university i applied to.

Important things that happened
 On February 11th the president of Egypt Hosni Mubarak resigns after massive protests calling for his departure, leaving control of Egypt in the hands of military.

March marked an end of an era, when my favorite band, The Ark, which has been my favorite since 2002, started their farewell tour from Helsinki. i saw them twice with all my friends and also did my final project for school about it. and cause of that, i got to photograph the first gig and that was really a dream come true. i also saw My Chemical Romance, but after saying goodbye to my favorite band (tho i did get to see them three times in the summer, i just didn't know that then yet) it didn't feel so exciting to see a band that i don't like nearly as much.

Important things that happened
 On March 11th over 15 500 people are killed and almost 4000 are missing after a 9.1 magnitude earthquake and subsequent tsunami hit the east of Japan.
 On March 17th The United Nations Security Council votes to create a no-fly zone over Libya in response to the governments aggressions against civilians.
 On March 23rd British-American actress Elizabeth Taylor dies.

In April school was almost done and we only had to finish few projects, one of them was shooting a song competiton called Ourvision. it was a great experience. also Doctor Who started, which made me very happy.

Important things that happened
 On April 29th Prince William marries Catherine Middleton at Westminster Abbey in London, Approximately two billion people watch the event.

May was the month when i left Helsinki behind and moved back home, so i tried to make the most of it. i went to the amusement park with Hanna and Helsinki looked more beautiful than ever. my sister came to visit me and we took the kids to the zoo. i packed everything i owned and got settled in my old droom.

Important things that happened
 On May 1st the president of the United States, Barack obama announces that Osama Bin Laden has been killed.
 On May 16th the European Union agrees on a €78 billion rescue deal for Portugal.

June was beautiful. i was getting used to living back at home and enjoyed the warm weather (which at some point got way too hot and i didn't really enjoy it anymore). the summer was beginning, and it turned out to be a pretty great one.

Important things that happened
 On June 12th thousands of Syrians  flee to Turkey as Syrian troops  lay siege to Jisr  ash-Shugur.
